Made from two textured Japanese stoneware clays marbled together with a Shino glaze inside.
This cup was made using Kurinuki, a Japanese ceramic technique where a single block of clay is hollowed by carving.
Handcrafted in Onishi, Japan during a six-week Artist Residency. The culmination of the residency was an Anagama firing that lasted over 80 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln, landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This process makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Dishwasher safe however, hand washing is recommended. Approx. 6.5cm H x 7cm W.
One-off piece, ready to ship.
