About
Sofie Neuendorf is an Australian ceramic artist who was raised with a love and appreciation for the arts. After discovering wheel throwing as a teenager, Sofie pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) from the Queensland University of Technology. After graduating in 2016, Sofie moved to the Northern Rivers, NSW, Australia and opened a pottery studio.
The studio ‘Lunio by Sofie’ creates functional ceramic work for galleries, wholesale and direct to patron. Lunio means 'shape' or 'form' in Welsh and personifies the way Sofie sees the world and how this affects the design and creation of her work.
Since 2019 Sofie has participated in Anagama firings across Australia and internationally. She hopes to one day build a small wood kiln, as an ongoing collaboration with other local potters.
For the past five years, Sofie has taught ceramic courses in hand building and wheel throwing with beginners and more advanced students.
