Handcrafted from iron rich Japanese stoneware clay with a thin milky slip and glaze creating the pink colour.
This piece was wheel thrown in Tamaba-Sasayama, Japan during a two month stay at Fieldwork Pottery. During this time I fired two Anagamas kilns for 60 and 120 hours respectively.
Wood is fed into the kiln every few minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln, landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This process makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Dishwasher safe however, hand washing is recommended. Approx. 7cm H x 9.5cm W.
