Made from creamy Japanese stoneware clay with a crawling Shino glaze and sea shell markings where it was fired on its side.
This vase was wheel thrown then carved to finish in Sasayama, Japan during my three months working in Japan. This piece was fired in John Dix Anagama for over 60 hours. Wood is fed into the kiln every ten minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The ash from the burning wood flies through the kiln, landing on pieces to create beautiful and unique colours. This process makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
While these pieces can be used functionally they were intended for decorative purposes.
Dishwasher safe however, hand washing is recommended. Approx. 15cm H x 9cm W.
One-off piece, ready to ship.
