Handcrafted from Iron rich New Zealand clay with a pale Shino glaze and rutile slip.
This piece was wheel thrown and altered in Coromandel, New Zealand during an Artist Residency at Driving Creek Pottery. The culmination of the residency was a Phoenix wood and soda kiln firing for 15 hours.
Wood is fed into the kiln every few minutes to keep the temperature inside climbing. The introduction of soda at high temperatures flies through the kiln landing on pieces to draw out beautiful and unique colours from the clay and glazes. This makes each piece individual and irreplaceable.
Dishwasher safe however, hand washing is recommended. Approx. 7cm H x 7cm W.
